School Sports Update

On February 6th the Government of Alberta announced updates to COVID Step 1 which comes into effect February 8, 2021. During Step 1 Kindergarten - Grade 12 students can participate in curriculum-based athletic activities (physical education classes and academy programming). These curriculum-based programs are also able to use off-site facilities.

Lessons, practices and conditioning activities are now allowed for indoor and outdoor, team-based minor sports/activities and school athletics. A maximum of 10 individuals (including all coaches, trainers and participants) can gather for the activity. Physical distancing must be maintained between participants at all times. Masks must be worn at all times except during the training activity; coaches and trainers must remain masked at all times. There are no games allowed at this time.
