Nutrition Program Cookie Collaboration

Posted on Mar 1, 2019

As part of the grant for our Daily Nutrition Programs, student leaders from four of our elementary schools visited Monsignor McCoy High School to cook with the foods class!

Foods Teacher Jill Gloin reviewed the new Canada Food Guide with the children, taught them about healthy portions and together they backed delicious white bean cookies to take home!

This year, St. Michael's School and St. Francis Xavier School joined St. Louis School and Mother Teresa School as participants in the Daily Lunch Program after the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education received $166,000 in grant funding from Alberta Education to implement Nutrition Programs.

The daily lunches support healthy eating choices as per the Alberta Nutrition Guidelines for Children and Youth.
