A New Year's Blessing - Superintendent's Blog

A very special welcome back to our students, staff and families! As our first week draws to a close and we return to regular instruction next week, I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank each student, staff member and parent for the extraordinary support and effort that each one of you has put in this school year! I am so incredibly grateful, knowing that it has not been easy. And yet, despite this, we have been incredibly successful!
There are many challenges that we may yet face. I am comforted however in that because we are a family, we will face them together. If we have learned anything from this pandemic, it is that we need and rely on each other. This experience has also taught us that we are much more resilient and creative than we may have ever thought. It has been truly inspiring to see the many acts of kindness and goodwill that we as a family have shared and I know that these experiences will only serve to highlight the importance of God’s message to “love thy neighbour.”
A New Year’s Blessing
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright,
Even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, Hope & Joy
To you for the year ahead!
Happy New Year!
