Easter Message - Superintendent's Blog

Posted on Apr 9, 2023

" Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!

In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." 1 Peter 1:3

Easter reminds us that God loves us so much that he sent his only son to die for us. Jesus conquered death and sin with his resurrection and it demonstrates to us that whoever believes in him will be raised from the dead. This is why Easter is the most important feast in the Liturgical Year. It is the foundation upon which our Catholic faith is built.

While it is difficult to truly understand the resurrection, we have to simply accept it as the most important gift God has given us. I would encourage each of you to reflect on the resurrection with awe, adoration and joy. Through his resurrection, Jesus shows us that he will never leave us and is always there when we need him. Jesus’ first words to his disciples after his resurrection were “Peace be with you.” It is through his conquering death and sin and then resurrection that we are able to find peace, renewal and joy.

Easter Prayer of Joy

Almighty God, Lord and Giver of Life,

in the joy of this Easter season,

may we be renewed in the freshness of the resurrection.

Help us to open our spirits to the happy news

so that we may be filled with gratitude and praise.

As people of the resurrection,

keep us aware of our calling

and make us ready to act on your words.

May we eagerly walk with willing steps

in the service of our brothers and sisters.

In the praise of God and His son, Jesus Christ,

our risen and redemptive Lord.

Amen

“Christ is risen!”  “He is truly risen!”

Wishing you a blessed Easter!
