MHCBE Director of Curriculum Recognized for Excellence in French Language Education

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education is proud to celebrate Mr. Colin Desnoyers, who was nominated for the 2024-25 French Immersion/French Second Language Education Professional of the Year Award!
These prestigious provincial awards were developed and presented jointly by Canadian Parents for French (CPF) and the Alberta French Language Education Consortium (AFLEC).
The French Education Awards recognize exceptional commitment and innovation in French second language education across Alberta. Mr. Desnoyers’ nomination acknowledges his passion, dedication, and outstanding contributions to French immersion learning within our school division.
"Colin’s nomination is a testament to the impact he has on students, colleagues, and the broader French language community," said Dr. Dwayne Zarichny, Superintendent of Schools. "His work continues to elevate K-12 French language learning at MHCBE and we are incredibly proud of his accomplishments."
Since stepping into the role of Director of Curriculum, Mr. Desnoyers has worked tirelessly to elevate K-12 French Immersion experiences across our division. His leadership has fostered enhanced collaboration among K-12 French Immersion teachers, expanded professional development opportunities, and created opportunities for enriched student experiences- highlighted by events like A Very Merry French Christmas | Un très joyeux Noël français. A joyful celebration that featured K-12 French Immersion staff and students spreading Christmas joy and French culture with the broader community.
