At the September Public Board Meeting, the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education Board of Trustees approved a motion to implement wage increases for all support staff across the Division.

The motion was recommended to the Board by Senior Administration and was passed unanimously.

“Be it resolved that the MHCBE provide support staff with a 6% increase to their respective grids effective September 1, 2025. Additionally, there will be a 3% increase each year for the following 2 years.”

Effective September 1, 2025, all Division support staff will receive a 6% wage increase. Additional increases of 3% will follow in both the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years.

“This decision reflects our gratitude for the dedication and service of support staff, who are an essential part of ensuring our schools are welcoming, safe, and faith-filled learning environments,” said Kathy Glasgo, Board Chair. “Their daily work makes a profound difference in the lives of students and teachers they support, and we are proud to support them through this commitment.”

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Dwayne Zarichny, echoed this sentiment: “Our support staff are the heart of our division. They provide care, stability, and essential services that directly contribute to student success. This increase is a meaningful way to recognize their contributions and reinforce how much they are valued in Medicine Hat Catholic schools.”

MHCBE is proud to recognize and invest in the contributions of division support staff.

Support staff are the welcoming faces, the steady hands, and the quiet champions behind every student’s success.
