2025 Excellence in Catholic Education Award

The Board of Trustees for the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education is proud to announce that Mr. Robert Dumanowski, Principal of École St. John Paul II School, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Excellence in Catholic Education Award.
This prestigious award celebrates individuals who make an outstanding contribution to Catholic education. Throughout his 29-year career with Medicine Hat Catholic, Robert Dumanowski has exemplified unwavering dedication to faith-based learning. He is a true witness to his faith, integrating it seamlessly into both his professional and personal life. As a spiritual leader and active parish member, he serves as an inspiration to students and colleagues alike. His deep commitment to fostering strong connections between school, home, and parish is evident in all that he does.
Upon receiving the news, Robert humbly expressed his gratitude for being nominated for this esteemed recognition.
Robert will be formally recognized at the Public Board Meeting on March 11th and at the Blueprints Annual Spring Conference, hosted by the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association.
Background of the Award: The Excellence in Catholic Education Award was established by the Council of Catholic School Superintendents of Alberta to communicate clearly the benefits of Catholic education and its value to society. This prestigious award recognizes Catholic teachers in Alberta who have done an exemplary job in preparing our youth to grow into outstanding citizens. In our division, a recipient is awarded annually. We extend our congratulations to each of this year’s nominees who are passionate about Catholic education, inspire their students, and are committed to fostering the well-being of youth.
