Posted on Jun 16, 2025

The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education is proud to share that Mr. Colin Desnoyers has been appointed as Associate Superintendent, Curriculum and Instruction, effective August 1, 2025.

A proud graduate of Monsignor McCoy High School, Colin holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education from Montana State University, as well as a Master of Religious Education from Newman Theological College.

Since stepping into the role of Director of Curriculum in spring 2024, Colin has made a significant impact by leading the implementation of the new curriculum with clarity and purpose. He has strengthened supports for French Immersion and has provided countless opportunities for professional learning. Colin’s leadership has ensured that educators are equipped with the tools, training, and resources they need to foster meaningful and effective learning in every classroom.

“Colin brings a deep understanding of curriculum and instruction, along with a clear vision for supporting teachers and student learning,” says Dr. Dwayne Zarichny, Superintendent of Schools. “His leadership has already made a lasting impact, and I am confident he will continue to strengthen and support our division in this new role.”

In his new role, Colin will continue to oversee Curriculum Development, French Immersion, Religious Education, Indigenous Education, and Physical Wellness Education. His dedication to instructional excellence and collaborative leadership will continue to serve our staff and students well as we move forward.

Please join us in congratulating Colin Desnoyers on this well-deserved promotion and welcoming him to his new leadership role within our division!
